Did you know that to capture and hold your prospects attention, they need to be engaged, informed and entertained? There is a reason YouTube is the fourth busiest site on the Internet, and the New York Times called the flip recorder “one of the most significant electronic products of the year.” I used a flip to record this video for you – on location. Breakthroughs in understanding and recall happen when people listen, watch and interact instead of just reading. Relationships also thrive. So, our second quarterly Marketing Snacks is on video shows and technologies that let you entertain prospects all the way to the bank. Click on the link below for more video-related ideas. How To Search Engine Optimize Your Writing

I want to share with you six tips on “How to Optimize Your Writing for Search Engines.”

  1. Research your keywords. Popular programs are Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery. Softscribe can also research keywords for you.
  2. Write for humans, then gently rewrite for search engines using keywords that equal from 1 to 2% of your body copy.
  3. Base each writing on one target keyword. Ideally, this target keyword will appear in the title, the summary and the first 30 words of every writing.
  4. Use synonyms in the body of a writing. Google has what they call Pattern Recognition Software, which looks for synonyms to keywords in order to determine what a page is about.
  5. Maintain consistent text linking. Try to always use the same keyword and links to a certain website page.
  6. Remember that search engines are not human. To optimize for engines, be consistent and simple. Make it easy for Google to determine your content.

Even though optimizing for Google is important for higher rankings, success with the human audience will always be more important. Why? Because Google pays attention to how many people link to or read a page or article. Success with human readers will lead to success with Google.
